Jerald L. Erickson

Jerald L. Erickson was born in July of 1945 in Holdrege, NE to Lucile and Vernon Erickson and passed away of acute myeloid leukemia on December 12, 2010 in Denver, CO at 65 years of age. Jerry graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1969 as an Electronics Engineer. He was employed at Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin for 32 years in the Aerospace divisions, working on projects including the Apollo, Mars Lander, Viking and Titan projects. He loved back country hiking, target shooting, football, a good joke and being with his family. He was a loving and generous son, brother and uncle who will be present in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Lucile P. and Vernon Eugene Erickson. Jerry is survived by his sister, Janet Erickson Hixon; nieces Cheryl (Hixon) Knibbe and her husband, John of Foxfield, CO, Christie (Hixon) George and her husband, Randal of Colorado Springs, CO; and great nieces and nephew: Kelsey, Erin, Erica and Kyle Knibbe. Services will be held at the Nelson Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, NE at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18th. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Denver.
