Jeremiah Nils Kolbensvik

Jeremiah Nils Kolbensvik, 32, passed away June 16, 2018 in Denver, Colorado after a challenging struggle with addiction. After several attempts at recovery, addiction unfortunately won and we lost the Jeremiah we all knew and loved so dearly.
Jeremiah was born on July 20, 1985 to Jon Thomas Kolbensvik and Melody Morgan Huggins in McKinney, Texas. He was their first born child.
From the young age of two years old, Jeremiah fell in love with dirt bikes. Together with his dad, they shared their passion for racing and raced Cross Country, Motocross and Enduro Races traveling throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. During his early teens, Jeremiah raced an Arena Cross at the Ft. Worth Will Rogers Coliseum. At age 16, he and his dad raced the Tecate Score BAJA 500 and in 2007 joined TEAM Curvas Peligrosas with his dad and finished the 40th Tecate Score BAJA 1000 in Baja California and later raced in The LAST MAN STANDING.
With a passion for living and having fun, Jeremiah was always the life of the party. If he wasn't doing back flips off the diving board, skateboarding down the driveway, or tricks on his bike or motorcycle he was stuffing marshmallows in his mouth. He loved to make his family and friends laugh. These were his happiest times.
Jeremiah reached his dream of completing the Fire Academy at Collin County College and he pursued every opportunity to travel. He visited the town of Kolbensvik, Norway and loved being in the mountains whether it was Colorado or Canada.
Shortly after graduating from high school in Flower Mound, Texas, Jeremiah met the love of his life, Jennifer Hammett Kolbensvik, a longtime family friend whom he married August 13, 2011. The newly married couple moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where Jeremiah continued his career in the oil and gas industry traveling to Texas, Louisiana, North Dakota and New York. He was blessed with one daughter, ""Mellie"". She was the joy and delight of his life.
Jeremiah is preceded in death by his mother Melody Morgan Huggins, his paternal grandfather Robert T. Kolbensvik, his paternal grandmother Dorothy Dryg, and his maternal grandfather Chester Collins Morgan, his step grandfather Ralph W. Murphy, and his step grandmother Patricia Ann Murphy.
He is survived by his father and step mother Jon Thomas Kolbensvik and Lori Murphy Bell, sister Aleshia and husband Joel Renteria, sister Rachael Kolbensvik and fiancé Ryan Marquez, sister Catherine Bell and brother Eddie Bell, his most precious daughter Melody ""Mellie"" Starr Kolbensvik, grandmother Shirley Morgan, and grandfather William Dryg. Jeremiah's greatest achievement and proudest accomplishment will forever be his daughter ""Mellie"".
A memorial honoring Jeremiah's life will be held July 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Cross Timbers Church, Argyle, Texas.
