Jerome (Jerry) Foss, Jr.

January 3, 1941 — February 11, 2022

Jerome Jay Foss, Jr. (Jerry) passed on February 11, 2022. He was born January 3rd, 1941 in Evanston, Illinois, son of Jerome Jay Foss, Sr. and Marian (Daley) Foss.

He has left behind his children: Jim (Kimberly) Foss, Joseph (LeAnn) Foss, and Angie (Todd) Trautman; grandchildren: Steven and Juliana Foss; Augustine, Xavier, Thérèse, and Bernadette Foss; Theresa, Grace, Maria, Joe, Peter, and Charlie Trautman; his sister Jody Foss; and his sisters-in-law: Sue Kisicki, Mary Gilmor, Carol Plummer, Gloria Kisicki, and Phyllis (Garrell) Blount.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna Louise (Kisicki) Foss; his parents: Jerome Jay Foss, Sr. (Jerry) and Marian Foss; father- and mother-in-law: Stan and Marie Kisicki; his infant daughter Nancy Lynn Foss; sister Patricia Hawn; brothers-in-law: Larry Hawn, Ken Kisicki, Jim Gilmor, Bill Bakke, Jim Plummer, Ben Kisicki and Bud McIntosh; sisters-in-law: Julie Bakke and Paula McIntosh.

Jerry’s family moved to Denver in the late 1950s, and he graduated from South High School. After briefly attending college, he attended FCC school for electronics and joined the Army, serving for two years, where he received training as a Krypto operator. His forty year career was spent in electronic repair, specializing in two-way radio and microwave technologies. Jerry was an avid train collector and long-time member of the Train Collectors Association (TCA). Over the years, he shared his love and joy for trains by running layouts at Children’s Hospital and various meets and displays in the Denver Metro area. He was very proud of his three children and all of his grandchildren, and he loved to talk to anyone about them.

After the death of his beloved wife, and due to declining health because of his Parkinson’s condition, he moved out of his house of fifty years into Pine Grove Assisted Living in Parker, Colorado. He spent these past two years making lots of friends among the residents and staff and will be dearly missed. He loved that he was able to share his joy of trains by setting up a train layout at Christmas for the residents to enjoy.
