Jesse O. Freeman

December 31, 1943 — July 29, 2014

Jesse was born on December 31, 1943 in Lusk Wyoming to parents Art & Wyoma Freeman and big brother Joe. He spent the first 11 years in Lance Creek Wyoming. When he was in the 5th grade the family was transferred with Art's job at Conoco to Brush, Colorado. Jesse became active in sports playing football and wrestling for his high school, the Brush Beetdiggers. He also participated in choir earning awards with the All State Choir. Jesse Graduated from Brush High School in 1962 and went to Lamar Jr. College for one school year. During that time his parents were again transferred, this time to Grand Junction, Colorado. Jesse returned from his first year of college to Grand Junction where he helped his parents build the home they would live in for the next 44 years. After moving to Grand Junction, Jesse was a typical young man, going to 3.2 clubs dancing, drinking and smoking. He met Sharon Helland at the local 3.2 club called The Pad. After dating for more than 2 years Jesse & Sharon were married January 8, 1966. Jesse & Sharon have two children, Kurt Freeman born June 12, 1968 and Brenda Freeman born September 6, 1970. Jesse & Sharon's life became consumed with raising a family and work. Jesse worked a variety of sales jobs for Conoco, Ingersol Rand, Compressor Systems Inc., Wilson Supply, ending his career with Far West Corrosion as an inside salesperson. He often said he wished he had found this last job much earlier in his career. It was his favorite position. Jesse is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children Kurt and Brenda; and his two grandchildren, Alex and Donaven Freeman. He was very proud of these boys and loved attending their sporting events as often as possible. Also survived by his brother Joe (Gail) Freeman; sister-in-law Mary Jo Helland; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 3:00PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. Reception at same location following the service.
