Jessica Marisela Barraza Hernández, 30, of Commerce City, joined her abuelito Trini and Papi Palan in heaven on August 16, 2020. Jessica was born on September 22, 1989 in Thornton, Colorado to Jesus Barraza Navarrete and Elva Hernandez Ramirez. She graduated from Thornton High School in 2007 and was currently an employee at Children’s Hospital.
It goes without saying that Jess was a beautiful young lady both inside and out. Jess did not meet a stranger as she was able to connect with people instantly. Her amazing personality made her stand out along with those big, beautiful eyes and her gorgeous smile. She truly could light up an entire room, even the darkest ones. She was a strong, fierce, elegant woman and loved life deeply. Traveling, dancing, attending events and spending quality time with her loved ones were some of her favorite hobbies.
Jess was a social butterfly and paved her way into so many hearts, but without a doubt, her family was her true love. Jess was the type of person to truly go above and beyond for her loved ones. She ALWAYS showed up, regardless of the need- celebrations, movie nights, chill nights, legal matters, family issues, sick days- she was with her loved ones during the good times, and most definitely during the hard times. She always took care of situations with her go getter attitude.
Jess had many nieces and nephews and they were everything for her. She strived to create memories with them and for them because that was important to her. Jess left an imprint in their hearts allowing them to forever cherish their “tia flaca”.
Jess was loved by her family, friends, co-workers, she lived her life to the fullest, she checked off many things off her bucket list, she fell in love, had so much confidence, and was full of life. Knowing that she lived her life the way she intended to and knowing that she was truly happy with her life brings comfort to us. We will forever love and cherish your memory.
Survivors include her parents; her siblings: Naty, Kathy, Chuy, Luis, Aaron, Lupita, and Noel; her grandmother, Maria; her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family will be having a private rosary.
