J.R. (Jim) Clabaugh passed away December 1, 2007 in Wellington, Colorado as a result of a car accident. He was a passenger in a van owned by his employer. Jim was born on November 23, 1931 in Oak, Nebraska, the son of Harry and Valma Ellis Clabaugh. After graduating from Midwest, Wyoming High School, he entered the U.S. Marine Corp serving his time in Korea. Upon his discharge he worked for Lee Trucking and Texaco Refinery in Casper, Wyoming. He then attended Casper College and received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Denver. He was an Internal Auditor for 25 years at Ideal Cement Company and then was employed for 10 years with the Defense Contract Audit Agency as an Internal Auditor. The past nine years he has been employed by Danella Rental Systems. For many years he was an active volunteer with the Westernaire horse riding drill team. In his free time, he helped his son with maintenance issues at the Thunder Valley Motocross track. He is survived by his wife Cherie, daughter Diane, son David (Shari) and 3 grandchildren, Kyle, Cortney and Ashley. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harry Clabaugh, Jr. of Seattle. Funeral Service, Wednesday 1:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel. Interment Golden Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
