Jimmy Cris Thomas, age 70, passed away on December 6, 2021. He was born in Merced, California on April 24, 1951 to the late Delbert Dean Thomas and the late Norma L. Carr Thomas.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gay Thomas, his sons Jason Christopher Thomas (Stephanie Ann) and Michael Dean Thomas, and his grandchildren Maddison Rose Thomas and Mckenzie Lynn Thomas. He is predeceased by his parents, Delbert Dean Thomas and Norma L. Carr Thomas and his brother Michael Del Thomas.
Jim worked hard but also played hard. With a passion for drag racing, he built and raced cars at Bandimere Speedway. His 1969 Camaro won Best Engineered at the Fall Street Machine Nationals in Springfield MO. Through the years, Jim’s love of racing passed on to both his sons. Jim enjoyed working on cars and teaching his boys the tricks of the trade. Some say you can tell Jim Thomas built a motor just by the way it sounds.
Jim worked in Logistics for 30 plus years starting out running an injection molding machine in a production plant and retired as a Corporate Logistics Manager for a corrugated manufacturer. Jim loved logistics and all areas of logistics. He loved to plan and figure out how he was going to ship products all over the nation to take care of his customers! Jim retired from logistics to open his own shop where he could work on cars and be where he really belonged - in a shop working and listening to oldies
Above all, Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandfather. Papa Jim’s favorite pastime was chasing his granddaughters around the living room, grinning each time he made them giggle. Jim will be deeply missed.
