Jnell Maryalyce Ruetz Jnell Maryalyce (Quanz) Ruetz, 76 years of age, of Parker, CO passed away, December 24, 2017 at the Porter Hospice at Johnson Center, Littleton, CO. Jnell was born March 6, 1941 in Glade, KS to Ethel Ruth (VanAllen) and Everett Eugene Quanz. She attended the Glade Grade School as well as the United Methodist Church, graduating from Phillipsburg High School with the class of 1959. Following her graduation from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS in 1963 with a degree in Elementary Education, she taught first and second grades in California and Colorado. Jnell suffered a stroke in 1968, and after much physical therapy, speech therapy and relearning, she accomplished her main goal of returning to the work place in 1975 as an instructor at the Childrenâs World Preschool. Later she was employed with the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority International Headquarters and the Rocky Mountain Stroke Association. Jnell was united in marriage to Edward Ruetz in 1977. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was passionate about her pets and over the years had many rescue cats and dogs. She was accomplished at needlepoint with her one functional hand. Win or lose, Jnell loved rooting for the Broncos. Jnell remained active with her sorority friends attending many annual retreats. She dedicated the last years of her life to caring for her aunt Marjorie Minton. Memberships and activities included the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and the Rocky Mountain Stroke Association. She was baptized and a member of Glade United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and younger brothers Gary and Donald Quanz. Jnell is survived by her brother Robert (Shirley) Quanz, Glade, KS, nieces and nephew Tina Saunders, Grove, OK, Terri Chester, Topeka, KS, Roberta Quanz-McCormack, Agra, KS and Rod Quanz, Glade, KS., great nieces, Megan Hossain, Aiden and Remy, Topeka, KS, Rebecca (Robert) LaPlant, Adeline and Scarlette, Lawrence, KS. Her extended Kansas relatives include Donald (Joan) Shields, Phillipsburg KS, Barry Quanz, Seldon KS, Arloa (Dan) Murphy, Wakeeney, Ks., her step children, Jeffrey Ruetz, Denver, CO, and Lynn (Klaus) Hertwig, Philipp and Christian, Kaufleuren Bovaria, Germany, and step grandson Michael Ruetz, Chicago, IL. She had close relationships with Marjorie Mintonâs family including sons James (Inga) Minton, Clovis CA, and Greg (Sandy) Minton, Lonetree CO and their children and grandchildren.
