Joan E. MacIntyre

Joan E. MacIntyre, age 86, of Denver, CO passed away April 2, 2016 in Denver. She was born March 9, 1930 in New York City, NY to Frank & Ann (Parente) Smith. Joan grew up and worked in New York for much of her early life before meeting her husband Samuel Andrew MacIntyre. After their marriage, they moved to Germany to reside for a couple of years before returning to Arizona and then to Denver in 1968. Joan had a love for bargain shopping and arts & crafts. She had a gift to make friends easily and enjoyed getting to know people of various walks in life. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Ann. Survivors include her son, Ken and daughter. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10th at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014) from 2-4 pm. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 11th at Harvard Square Assisted Living (10200 E. Harvard Ave., Denver, CO 80231) at 3:00 pm. Joan will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver with her husband on Tuesday, April 12th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.
