Joan Francis Meranda

Joan Francis (Gajewski) Meranda of Centennial, Colorado passed away on December 17, 2016 after a brief illness with cancer. She was born on August 18, 1934 to Edmund and Florence Gajewski in Duluth, MN. She pursued her Nursing Degree in Seattle, WA and subsequently moved to Centennial, CO where she married Robert (Bob) Meranda, May 17, 1960. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Rose Medical Center for 39 years where she made many lifetime friends. She always said that her family and friends were the most important thing in her life. Her greatest joy was having the entire family together and she will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her Husband Robert (Bob); her Parents Edmund and Florence; brothers Daniel and Richard (Dick); and her sister Kathy Lewis. She is survived by her daughters; Judith Meranda, Jeanine (Doug) Schell, Jennifer (Eian) McKinley. Grandchildren; Casey (Joey) Bouman, Michelle (Noah Bauer) Noffsinger, Kyra, Seth, Maya and Levi McKinley. Great Grandchildren, Connor & Liam Bouman and Adianna & Bryce Bauer; Her sister, Rita Herald and Brother-in-Law, George Lewis, Sister-in-Law, Melinda Gajewski, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Funeral Services will be held on January 3, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 S. Quebec St., Englewood, CO 80112. Rosary will begin at 11:00am followed by Mass, Reception, then Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
