Joan Nelson

Joan Marie Nelson of Centennial, originally of Denver, passed away peacefully of natural causes at age 98 on January 7.

She is the beloved mother of six children, Joseph (Joy; Scottsdale AZ), Barry (Michelle; Centennial CO), Mary Anne (Manuel; La Veta CO), David (Kathy; Castle Rock CO), Lorene (David; Stanford CA), and Stephen (Laura; Littleton CO). Joan is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her loving kindness and quick-witted sense of humor.

As matriarch of our family she guided her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to live lives with strong humanitarian values and respect for people throughout our world. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son William, and parents Lorene and John Davoren.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in the future when it is safe to gather in person.
