Joan Louise Skorheim

Joan Skorheim of Bailey, Colorado passed away peacefully at home with family the morning of May 9, 2019.

Joan was born in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph and Louise Rolling. She is survived by her six children, three grandchildren and one great granddaughter; Patty (Ross, deceased) Ludlow of San Diego, California; Bob Jr. of San Diego, California, Richard of San Diego, California, John of Timbo, Arkansas, Susan Officer of Bailey, Colorado, and Bill (Cari) of Spring, Texas; three grandsons, Shawn (Adriene) Ludlow, Travis and Justin Skorheim and great granddaughter Celeste Ludlow.

Joan married the love of her life, Robert Skorheim, on June 10, 1950. She loved to tell people she was a teenage bride, if only for a day. Robert preceded her in death on April 7, 2014, after 63 wonderful years together. They moved to Bailey, Colorado in 1995.

Her loves included her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, travel, painting, stained glass, and gardening. She lived a full life full of love and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Mount Evans Hospice for everything during this difficult time, especially Kris, Brenda and Mary.

Services are Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church. Recitation of the Rosary begins at 9:30 am, Mass at 10:00 am, with burial at Horn Cemetery immediately following services.
