Joann âJodiâ McFarland Waggoner was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and raised in Denver. She spent her childhood traveling with her educator parents and exploring the Rocky Mountains at the family cabin. She was an English Major at the University of Colorado in Boulder from 1964 to 1968, graduating with a teaching degree. Following University Jodi was an International Flight Attendant for TWA.
In the early 70âs, Jodi married John R. Waggoner of Roswell, New Mexico. Their marriage spanned almost five decades. Together they raised two children, John Jr. and Kate, enjoyed entertaining and traveled the world on cruise ships.
In her spare time Jodi enjoyed reading, music and cooking. She also took great pleasure in attending Kateâs golf and equestrian pursuits and John Jrâs musical performances. In recent years she delighted in anything to do with granddaughter Gracie.
Jodi served as the president of the Junior League of Denver in 1989. Her love of cooking led to several contributions to the Junior League fundraising cookbooks. Jodi had a passion for helping others, especially children. This led her to volunteer at the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect.
Jodi is survived by two sisters Mick Cranston and Charla Dellit, her daughter Kate, son John Jr., daughter-in-law Katie, and granddaughter Gracie. Celebrate Jodiâs life by donating to the Kempe Center of Denver. A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
