Joanna Lee DeWolfe

Joanna, 87, died peacefully in her apartment on Saturday, March 23, 2024, of natural causes.  

She grew up as a country girl in Towner, CO and was very active in 4H.  It was there and with the help of her mother she learned to sew.  She used her sewing skills to make many of her own clothes as well as clothes for her children.  

She moved to the Denver area in the early 60’s. She went to secretarial school while raising her three children.  She went to work for Martin Marietta in 1964 and this is where she met William DeWolfe (Bill).  They were married on September 21, 1974.  Bill had four children so the family grew to seven kids. 

Joanna retired shortly thereafter to become a homemaker for this large family.

She became a pretty good golfer and has golfed in all states except Alaska.  She was always gardener and always had beautiful flower gardens.  Along with golfing and gardening, she was a talented crafter and took to sewing quilts for family and friends.

She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Pearson of Bella Vista AR, son Doug Pearson and wife Patty of Parker, CO, daughter Tonya Daniel of Littleton, CO, son Mike DeWolfe and wife Virginia of Golden, CO, son Mark DeWolfe and wife Kelly of Grand Junction, CO, daughter Judi Sailors and husband Scott of Bella Vista, CO, daughter-in-law Cindy DeWolfe of Castle Rock.

She was the grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and loved this large family. 

Joanna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and sadly, 3 of her grandchildren and son Tom DeWolfe.

A Memorial Reception honoring Joanna's life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 2:00PM at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood.
