Joanne Lee Nelson Frey, age 78, joined her husband of 56 years, Ray M. Frey, in heaven January 4, 2006. She was born July 18, 1927 to Arthur L. and Vera H. Nelson. Mother of R. Martyn, Denver, Stephen N., Denver, and Seerie A. Braithwaite, Colorado Springs; grandmother of Shawna (Dan) Weems, Gretchen Frey, Brandy Vider, Branden and Kate Frey, and Ryan, Daniel, and Emily Braithwaite; great grandmother of Tyler, Connor, and Kylie Frey; sister of Jack (Helen) Nelson, Littleton, Barbara (Jed) Davis, Guffy, and Larry (Caroline) Nelson, Houston, TX. Joanne volunteered her time for 16 years to Children's Hospital La Chache, Denver. A memorial service will be Thursday, Jan. 12, 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital Foundation, 1245 E. Colfax Ave., Ste. 400, Denver, 80218, or Rocky Mtn. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now; He set me free.
