Joanne Wandell

Joanne Ruth Wandell, age 90, passed away at Parker Adventist Hospital on Monday February 1st, 2021.   Her passing was a result of complications due to a heart attack. She was born on August 18th, 1930 in Michigan City Indiana to Harold and Mildred Keene.

During her early life and marriage, she resided in Indiana. In 1966 she moved with her husband John and son Michael to Northbrook Illinois. While in Northbrook she spent 30 plus years with Culligan International retiring as the Advertising Specialist Manager in 1986.  While in Northbrook Joanne was a member of St Norbert’s parish. During this time, she also received an Associates Degree from Lake Forest School of Management.

After her husband John’s passing and retirement Joanne moved to Highlands Ranch Colorado. She spent many years as an active member of the Gleneagles Ranch community serving in numerous committee roles and chairmanships and was a member of St Thomas Moore. While in Colorado she was an enthusiastic member of the Denver Zoological Society for many years as well as an avid music box collector.

She is survived by her son Michael Wandell and his wife Jane, grandson Brian Garrick and his wife Sally, great-grandchildren Hayden and Elieanna, all residents of Castle Rock Colorado. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband John Wandell, parents Harold Keene and Mildred, and brothers Roger, Richard, Raymond and Gerald.

Cremation will take place in private ceremony with interment of ashes at St Joseph cemetery in LaPorte Indiana at a later date. Memorial contributions are welcome to the Denver Zoological Foundation by using https://denverzoo.org/support/donate/ and selecting Tribute Gift.
