Jody Allen Seltzer

October 4, 1971 — January 9, 2020

Jody Allen Seltzer, 48 of Castle Pines, Colorado passed away January 9, 2020. He was born in Wheatridge, Colorado on October 4, 1971.

He is survived by his wife Melissa Seltzer, daughters Ashlee and Megan, and his fur baby Scrunch. His parents Teresa & Bobby Robbins, sister Jennifer Hayworth (Patrick). His Sister-In-Law Jennifer Boyd (James) and nephew/niece Zachary and Zoey; half-brother Scott McCracken.

Jody was a Colorado native who graduated from Westminster (Westy) High School in 1990. Following graduation, he moved to California and begin a career in the gaming industry and graphic design. He married his high school sweetheart, Melissa, in 1996. In 2000, they welcomed their first daughter, Ashlee. In late 2000, they moved moved back home to Colorado where Jody continued his career in graphic design. In 2002, Jody and Melissa welcomed their second daughter Megan.

Jody started his own company in 2000, Graphic Applications Group. He worked independently with various industries on development of strategy guides and magazine layouts. His talent was exceptional and he could design anything. If you were lucky enough to walk by his office, you could hear him blaring music and singing along in his high pitched tone.

For the past 10 years, Jody has been the Vice President of Operations at KD Kanopy. In his spare time, you could find him on the softball field cheering on his girls; eating at Torchy’s Tacos (or any kind of Mexican food), watching the Colorado Avalanche, playing golden tee or a round of golf. On any given day, you would find Jody rocking out to hair nation, heavy metal and some rap… definitely not country!

In high school, Jody was known for his awesome mullet, rolled up jeans, penny loafers (sans socks) and some sort of t-shirt. Thankfully over the years he evolved into wearing jeans (not rolled up), khaki shorts, polo shirts and flip flops (no matter what the weather dictated). Jody was a charismatic guy who never met a person he didn’t like, he could connect and bond with anyone. He could have you laughing within minutes from his stories, likely had a nick name for you, had a generous heart and never expected anything in return.

In honor of Jody, a Celebration of Life will be held 3:00PM, Friday, January 17, 2020 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (5303 East County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122).

Jody attire is recommended, jeans, polo shirt and of course flip flops!

Following the celebration of life service, a taco buffet will be served because that is what Jody would want!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a GoFundMe that have been set up by the softball family.
