Joe Hamilton

Joe Hamilton, 89, born September 1928 to Dave and Myrtle Rozella Hamilton in St. Francis, Kansas, passed away on August 26, 2018 in Lakewood, Colorado. Joe was a man of strong character with a gentle spirit. His pride and joy was his family, he created a foundation of Love, Laughter, and Patience. Known for his love of the Daily Word and Hallmark cards he always ensured everyone knew he was thinking of them throughout the year. He was a hard worker his entire life, as a professional Craftsman he could do anything.

He served our Nation as a United States Marine, serving in China and Alaska. When he returned from service, he began his career in construction. Over his career, he grew in the ranks from Apprentice to General Foreman until his retirement in 2016. He literally built his legacy, often driving through a town, he would say ""I worked on that building and then that one.""

Joe is survived by his siblings Maxine Scott of Gallup, New Mexico; Melvin ""Mel"" and wife Sally Hamilton of Westminster, Colorado; and Betty Buhr of Bull Head City, Arizona. His daughters, Yvonne and husband Richard Fitzpatrick, Jr. of Lakewood, Colorado and Anita and husband John Miltenberger, Sr. of Kalkaska, Michigan. His grandchildren, Alayna and her husband Michael, Chad and his wife Abby, Andrew and his wife Desiree, JJ, Ethan and his wife Sondra, Alexander and his wife Brittney, and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Melba Elaine, and his brothers Gale, Tony, Robert, David ""Crock"", Larry, Chester ""Chet"", and Maxwell ""Max"" Hamilton.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO. Burial will be at 1 P.M. at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO. Celebration of Life will be be held at 1:30 P.M. at Olinger Crown Hill Reception Hall.
