Joe W. Lloyd, was born in Waycross, Georgia on July 30, 1930. He grew up in Waycross and after graduation from high school was married to Juanita Wallace, from Climax, Georgia.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, his first assignment was Turner Air Force Base in Albany, Georgia, where he began his Military career as a Line Cook. Joe's keen sense of self, and determination to succeed, lead him up the path of success in Food Service, from Line Cook to Chief of Food Service which lasted over 37 years.
Joe W. Lloyd's Military career spanned over 26 Military Installations including 4 International Military Installations, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Edinburg Scotland. Joe's superior performance above and beyond the call of duty earned him consistent promotions from Private to Chief Master Sergeant, the highest Non-commissioned officer's rank attainable.
During his marriage to Juanita and his military career, Joe grew his family to 6 children starting in 1949 through 1967, which includes 3 boys and 3 girls, the Lloyd clan has expanded to over 24 souls inclusive of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe's Military career began at an early age, which afforded him the opportunity to retire from the United States Air Force in 1982 at age 52 and pursue a second career in commercial food service, where he was able to capitalize on his 37 years of Military Food Service expertise to Manage multiple food service operations in Nebraska, Alaska, and Denver, Colorado.
Joe also ventured into entrepreneurship. Because of Joe's expertise in food service, this allowed Chick N Friends to be launched in 1987.
