Joe Padilla

Joe Padilla, 78, of Westminster passed away on January 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 15, 1941 he was the son of the late Jose Jesus Padilla, Sr. and Carolina (Lucero) Padilla. Joe married Dolores Romero on March 3, 1962 and together they shared 57 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife Dolores, he is survived by his daughters, JoDee Padilla and Fran (Tom) O'Shea; his granddaughter Deandra Vallejos; and sisters Mary Martinez and Evelyn Crocfer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death recently by his sister Rose Velarde, and many other siblings, nephews and friends.

Joe worked as a driver for Mullare Funeral Home in Trinidad, Colorado and Bestway Disposal in Denver, Colorado. He finished his career as a teamster working for P.I.E. and retired from Roadway in 1999 after 23 years of service.

He was a hard working generous and loving devout Catholic. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of golf, dance, music and his beloved pets.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 N Federal Blvd, Westminster, CO 80030. Laid to rest Monday, January 20, 2020, Rosary Service at Comi Funeral Home at 11:00 am, graveside service to follow.

Joe's family would like to sincerely thank the staff from Compassionate Hospice Care for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Compassionate Hospice Care, American Cancer Society and Immaculate Heart of Mary Food Bank.
