Joe Pontarelli

Our beloved Joe Pontarelli, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2008. Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years Charlene; five children, David (Connie), Jodee (Terry Mickelson), Linda (Steve) Romano, Barbara, and Tom (Terri); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother of Anthony; brother-in-law of Fifi Pontarelli, Elizabeth Woodley, Mary Ann Lamirato and Stanley (Pat) Lamirato; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Elizabeth, brothers William and Mike Fortunato, and sister Laura Domenico. Joe was born in Detroit and moved to Denver at the age of seven. He touched many hearts, was a gentle soul, a loving husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, and confidant. Viewing will be held June 9, 2008, 5:30 to 7:00pm, and Rosary at 7:00pm, Horan & McConaty (3020 Federal Blvd, Denver). Funeral mass will be held June 10, 2008, 10:00am, at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church (3549 N. Navajo St, Denver). Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery (3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver) will immediately follow the mass. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Heart Association of Colorado, 1280 S. Parker Rd, Denver, CO 80231. Our dearly loved Joe will be missed by all who knew him.
