She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Benton Clark. Mother to son Chris Clark, and daughter Tiffany Clark Johnson, along with their spouses Teresa Clark, and Charlie Johnson. Grandmother of Bayleigh, Hayden, and Jacob Clark, along with Jake and Brielle Johnson. Sibling to three surviving sisters (Sigrid, Gretel, Lieselotte) and one brother (Fritz) living in Germany. In 1946, her family escaped from East to West Germany. While still a teenager, 19 years old, Johanna came alone to America for new opportunities, working for the Vanderbilt's and Whitney's in Florida, Newport Rhode Island, and New York. In these environments, she crossed paths with many celebrities. She met her husband in New York City, was married there, and took a position as an accountant for Perugina Fine Chocolates on 5th Avenue. They have lived in Littleton, Colorado for forty-two years, where she was very active in the Ken Caryl Ranch swim team when her kids were young. After the children were grown, she took up tennis and became highly active in competitive as well as social play, serving as a Team Captain for nearly a decade. She also took on part-time work as a teaching assistant and later at the nearby Deluxe Check company. She visited Germany at least every two years, maintaining strong connections with her extended family over there, and creating memorable experiences for all. Extensive travel ranged from Leningrad to Portugal, from Finland to Cape Town South Africa, from Beijing to Sydney, and from Yellowstone to Ushuaia (southernmost city in the world). She especially loved the cruises of the Mediterranean and Antarctica, and had Alaska on her to-do list. What we will remember most, however, is her humanity, her energy, her friendly disposition, and her famous smile. Not only did she inspire her family but everyone she met. She will be missed greatly but not forgotten and we will never lose the memories of her kind and witty personality. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 2nd at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 7531 S. Kendall Blvd., Littleton, Colorado (on corner with Ken Caryl Avenue). Reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF.org).
