John D. Ayon, 48, formerly of Denver, died September 11, 2013 at his home in Missouri from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. John attended the University of San Diego and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. John had a passion for helping those in need. He was honored by the State Bar of California's Board of Governors and Legal Services Section for providing legal services to California's poor. He received certifications by the University of Colorado, Denver, Golden Key National Honor Society. He was a member of the University of San Diego Beta Alpha Psi, and also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. John liked his work in the political area. He enjoyed gardening, and loved animals and had said if he had not gone into the legal profession he would have become a veterinarian. John is survived by his wife Teresa Smith; mother Dolores Rael-Tapia; stepson Joshua; brothers Dennis Ayon, M.D. and Don Ayon. John was preceded in death by father John Ayon, Sr. and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
