Respectful, gentle and genuine are just a few words that describe our beloved Dick Baur who passed on April 18, 2014. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1951, Dick was the first of Judy and John Baur's six children. The family settled in Neenah, Wisconsin in the mid 50's. Summer trips to Montana and later, high school in Colorado, planted the passion for the west in Dick's soul. This sentiment was contagious and the family migrated to Denver in 1969. Working on ranches and living the life of a rodeo cowboy provided Dick with life long friendships, the love of horses and the western life that he carried with him throughout his life. But there is no doubt that Dick's greatest passion in his life was his soul mate, Vicki. Married in 1989, Dick and Vicki shared a love of travel, four legged critters and a deep respect for each other. Dick took great pride in his business and he treasured his associations with his business associates throughout the country. With Vicki's immense support, Dick was gracious and inspirational as he fought his illness. He was a gentleman with a wry wit up to very end. Dick, we will miss your easy smile peering out from beneath your signature mustache. Thank you for being part of our lives. We are better people for it. Dick is survived by his wife Vicki, his father John, sister Cindy and brothers Todd (Stephanie), Peter, and Andy (Betsy) along with his nieces and nephews Peter Jr., Lauren, William, Katie, Natalie and Caroline. He was preceded in death by his brother Chris and his mother Judy Baur. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may sent to the University of Colorado Foundation, University of Colorado Cancer Center or Denver Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center. Please include ""In memory of Dick Baur"" in the memo line or on an accompanying note.
