John Jay Bingaman

August 27, 1945 — April 16, 2020

John Jay Bingaman, 74, of Aurora, Colorado, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away suddenly April 16, 2020. He was born August 27, 1945 in Englewood, Colorado to Robert and Mary Lee Jay Bingaman.

John was a proud Viet Nam veteran and proud of the service he gave to his country while serving in the United States Army. He worked as a School Bus Driver for Cherry Creek School District for many years.

John will surely be remembered for his 30+ years of service as a volunteer with Special Olympics Colorado. In 1997, John and his wife Jolene were inducted into the Special Olympics Hall of Fame for the love and service they devoted to the Special Olympics community.

John was his own man who loved life, loved his family and loved Jesus. He was an active member of the New Hope Community Church.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Jolene Bingaman; sons, James (wife, Christine) Bingaman and Jay Bingaman; grandchildren, Danae, Alex and Jayden Bingaman; and siblings, Rose Pickell, Arlene Lichini and Claudia King. John was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Johannah Bingaman.

A Celebration of Life (by invitation only) will be held at The New Hope Community Church, 17699 E. Hampden Ave., Aurora, CO 80013.
