John Daniel Burke, Jr., of Arvada, passed away peacefully on May 8th at the age of 87. Born January 18, 1926 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen; parents Susan and John Burke; sister Mary Griffith; and a grandson John W. Baerg. He is survived by daughters Jorja A. Dildine (Robert) of Golden, Molly S. Neumann (Bart) of Arvada, and Nora E. Baerg (Terry) of Golden; grandchildren Erik J. Baerg (Jodie) of Firestone and Amie K. Mayhew (Bryan) of Lakewood; great-grandchildren Joshua and Kaitlyn Baerg and Henry Mayhew; and numerous other relatives and friends. John was a prominent plaster and fire-proofing contractor, and his company manufactured and installed pre-fabricated brick and aggregate panels which are featured on many buildings throughout Denver. In addition, John was an avid sportsman, who in addition to being on the All City Baseball team for North High School loved to golf and bowl. At John's request, no services will be held. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Collier Hospice and Harmony Pointe Nursing Center for the extraordinary care and compassion they gave to John in his final days.
