On Thursday May 4, 2023 John R. Cain of Aurora, Colorado passed
away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side.
John was born on June 29, 1938 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to June Stedman Cain
and Ray L. Cain. His father was career military and John traveled extensively
during that time. The experience influenced him to follow in his father’s footsteps.
John proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 1/2 years. Upon retirement, he volunteered at the USO, was an avid golfer and enjoyed membership at Wings Over The Rockies. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aurora Aerie 3224 where his Sunday breakfast burritos were a hit for many years. John was a member of the Aurora Elks Lodge 1922 and the TREA Chapter 39. He followed the Space Program for over 54 years. John also enjoyed playing the ukulele.
Always the Denver Bronco fan, he would never miss a game. In later years, John became a Colorado Rockies fan. His most relaxing times were trips to the mountains where he would sit on the deck and enjoy the mountain air. He would watch the wildlife and the occasional cow or llama pass by.
John is survived by his wife Rusty, daughter Janette and his constant companion big boy Linus.
