John Warren Chopyak

John W. Chopyak, 69, of Thornton, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011. John was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors but even more John was dedicated to raising and caring for his granddaughter Sami after her heart transplant in 2005. Surviving are his spouse, Janice Chopyak; sons, Richard (Mary Ruth) Chopyak, Robert (Sandra) Chopyak, and Joseph (Wendy) Chopyak; grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Will, Jake, Kyle, Sami, and Johnny; brother, Joseph (Angela) Chopyak; and several nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by his parents, Leo and Mary ""Mitzi"" (Zgainer) Chopyak; and spouse, Thelma Chopyak who died in 1983. Funeral Mass, Friday, 10:00AM, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 Federal Blvd., Westminster. Memorial contributions in John's name can be made to the church.
