John Davis

June 21, 1949 — March 8, 2010

John passed away peacefully on March 8, 2010 at his home in Aurora, Colorado. He was born in Ogden, Utah. After graduation from Ogden High School, John served in the United States Army. While stationed in Germany, he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was rated as a sharpshooter. John graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BS in Accounting and MS in Business Administration. He worked as a CPA for various firms in the greater Denver area including Bay4 Capitol Partners, Hogan, Kumagai, Shelton, Beattie & Co., PC. He served as Controller at Quizno's America, Inc., and as Vice President and Controller of North American National Bank. John was currently employed at EchoStar as a taxation accountant. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. John's favorite leisure activities were fishing, reading books, watching movies and playing computer games. His mother Vivian L. Davis, brothers Albert and James, and niece Marilyn Woodward preceded him in death. John is survived by his sister-in-law Mary Davis of Fort Collins; nieces Mary Pat (Larry) Moore of Highlands Ranch, Diane Davis of Thornton and Judy (Byron) Lewis of Ogden, Utah; nephew James (Dorothy) Davis of Thousand Oaks, California; great-nieces and great-nephews Sandra Machut, Christopher Moore, Jennifer Grosse, Candace Davis, Russell Davis, Jonathan Woodward, Fred Woodward, Arlene Arnold, Jon Lewis, Todd Lewis and Kay Cower. Memorial Service to be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 12 p.m., with Reception following the service, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. Committal Service to be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:30 p.m., at Fort Logan National Cemetery ~ Pavilion ""B"", 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, in Denver, Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312.
