John F. Delander, 92, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Collier Hospice Center. Mr. Delander was born October 15, 1916 in Haxtun, Colorado. He attended school there graduating from high school in 1933. John went on to serve in the CCC, and was in the Fifth Armored Division in WWII. After the war he attended the University of Colorado and later Denver University where he received his MBA. John was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, brother Harold Delander, and parents Milton and Dola Delander. John is survived by two sisters, Althea Dowis and Marguerite Baker of Lakewood, a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Patsy Williams of Erie, Colorado; a daughter, Edna Lyn Martin of Washington state, five grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Vistation Wednesday, 5-8pm; Funeral Service, Thursday, 11am, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., followed by burial at Fairmount Cemetery.
