John Frederick Dyer

John Frederick Dyer, age 82, passed away in his home in Aurora, CO on June 4, 2024.  He was a graduate of South High School.  In 1980, John met Connie Sue Myers and the two married soon after and welcomed their son, John Edward James (Jimmy).  John worked 35+ years in the telecommunications industry before retiring.  During retirement, John enjoyed bus tours with his wife Connie through the south with the Grace Wonderers, to Washington D.C. and to The Great Lakes.

In his youth, John played competitive softball and later in life enjoyed a senior recreational softball league.  John also enjoyed playing golf as well as bowling in which he earned many trophies.  John was an avid sports fan and loved watching his son Jimmy play hockey most of all.  The Colorado Avalanche ranked as one of John’s favorite teams where he was a proud season ticket holder for 20 years.  In recent years, John enjoyed the companionship of his two Maltese dogs, Sunnie, and Sophie which he lovingly cared for.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Connie Dyer, son Jimmy, daughter-in-law Kathleen, sister Pat, five nieces and one nephew.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Marie and infant sister.

Funeral services will take place at Horan & McConaty at 5303 E. County Line Rd. Centennial, CO 80122 on Tuesday, June 18^th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a lunch reception.  Viewing will take place prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
