John L. Fenton

June 26, 1923 — January 5, 2013

John L. Fenton (Jack) 89 of Denver, CO died peacefully January 5th at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, MA. Born in Canton, Ohio, Jack was the son of the late John L. and Evelyn (Maurer) Fenton. Jack, an EX-POW, proudly served in the United States Army and for his courageous service during WWII he was awarded the Bronze Star. Jack raised his family in Cleveland and then moved to Denver in 1999. Jack is survived by his 5 children Joli O'Mara (Steve) from Boston, Nancy Komatz (David) from Colorado, John Fenton from Colorado, Mark Fenton (Lenore) from Chicago, and Todd Fenton (Amy) from Colorado and his 10 grandchildren Kevin, Tim, and Danny O'Mara, Chase, Katie, and Keaton Komatz, Amanda and T.J. Fenton, and Riley Kate and Gavin Fenton. He also leaves his siblings June Streb of Canton, OH and Jerry Fenton of Naples, FL and many nieces and nephews. Jack enjoyed spending time with family, making new friends, and sharing his passion for WWII history. Visitation Friday, 01/18/2013, beginning at 9:00 AM, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227, followed by Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. A full Military Burial with Honors will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO at 1:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to RockyMountainHonorFlights.org.
