John Kenneth Frasco

June 29, 1934 — January 1, 2011

John Kenneth Frasco, 76, passed away January 1, 2011, in Denver, Colorado. He was born June 29, 1934, in Pittsburg, Kansas to John Floyd and Mary Winifred Kent Frasco.

He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, having served his country during a brief period of non-conflict. He was stationed at Sandy Hook, NJ and sailed on the Icebreaker Westwind over the top of the world.

John continued to serve his local community working as a Fire Fighter for 28 years with the Denver Fire Department. He was an Assistant Chief at the time of his retirement in 1988.

He is survived by his children, Ron, Lori, Dennis and Mike; former wife, Karen; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; long-time friend, Elizabeth Owen; and sister, Billy June McKenzie.

‘Dad’ was ‘ a fireman; our front-yard quarterback; converted ‘snowbird’; a lifetime (often irritated) Broncos’ fan; occasional Italian chef (Fire House Lasagna); passionate about showing the country to his family; a lover of cars, dogs, and sitcoms; a devious practical joker; a faithful provider for his family.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 7th, at 10:00am, at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 South Monaco Parkway, Denver, CO. 80222.

Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver at 12:30pm, Area “B”.
