John Gregory Freeman

John Gregory Freeman, 68, recently of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Friday, August 15th. John was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, colleague and friend. He is survived by his current wife Alicia Freeman and former wife Karen Freeman. He was preceded in death by two previous wives: Sue Freeman and Sarah Freeman. John will be greatly missed by his four sons, Greg, Michael, Justin, and Matthew. He was a caring grandfather to his twelve grandchildren: Austin, Madison, Stephanie, Cody, Nathan, Ella, Johnny, Aoibheann, Thadg, Aodhán, Peyten, and Knox. John had a distinguished career as a federal law enforcement agent of the United States Postal Inspection Service. He retired as the Inspector in Charge of the Southern California Division. He also had the pleasure of commanding the Denver Division as the Inspector in Charge. John was a proud American who cherished our country's freedom and was honored to serve his country as a veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a sergeant in the US Army. John loved people and will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Visitation Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd.in Lakewood, CO with a reception at Old Chicago following the viewing from 7:00 pm-close. Funeral services Monday, August 25, 2014 at11:00 a.m. at Cherry Hills Christian Church 3900 E. Grace Blvd. Highlands Ranch, CO with a small reception to follow. Funeral will process to Fort Logan National Cemetery 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO; for a 2:00 p.m. service, with Military Honors. Following the burial at Fort Logan everyone is welcome to join the family for refreshments, at Matt's house. Donations suggested to Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org
