John G. Geron

John Geron of Denver, Died Monday, February 8, 2010, with his wife by his side. John was born March 19, 1923, in Sterling, Colorado to Louis and Clementine Geron. The Geron family moved to Montrose, CO where John graduated from Montrose High School. He attended the Jr. College at Sterling, CO before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served two years defending his country. In 1953, John moved to Denver and worked at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. He married Betty Lou Strole on April 7, 1955, and to this union were born two daughters, Sheryl Lynn and Stefanie Lee. John was a loyal and faithful husband and father. He was devoted to his family and always willing to give a helping hand to others. John especially liked to garden, go camping with his family, sketching and drawing. John retired from Gates Rubber Co. in Denver after 28 years of dependable, loyal service. John is survived by his wife Betty of 55 years; two daughters Sheryl Starkenberg and her husband Ken of Denver, and Stefanie Day and her husband Mike of Littleton; four grandchildren Nichole Leigh, Nicholas Lance, Jerrid John, and Jacelynn Tayler all of Denver; and brother Ray J. Geron of Arvada. John was preceeded in death by his parents; brothers Edward and Alfred; twin sisters Esther and Vera.
