John Hill Jr.

John R. Hill, Jr. of Centennial passed away on August 19, 2022, surrounded by his family after a four-year battle with cancer. He was 85. John was a graduate of the United States Military Academy, Stanford University, and the George Washington University Law School. After two combat tours in Vietnam and serving 20 years in the Corps of Engineers, he retired from the Army and began a career in law. He was a trial attorney in the Environmental and Natural Resources division of the Department of Justice before moving to private practice. For the remainder of his career, he practiced water law in Gunnison, Colorado and it became his second home.

John will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years Patty, his daughter Julie (Eric) Harvey, son Doug, grandsons Jack and Nick Harvey, brother Joseph (Judy) and dear nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 19th at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial. John will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery following the Mass. Please contact the family for more details.
