John Hyre

John Dayton Hyre Jr, age 70, passed away in his home on the 1st of September 2022 surrounded by his family. John was born the son of John Sr and Virginia Hyre on August 3rd, 1952, in the booming town of Grand Junction Colorado. John, the only son of four children, eventually left Grand Junction and after several moves settled down in the Denver area with his wife of 40 years Debbie. John and Debbie raised four sons together, Faron, Dane, J.R. and Scott.

From selling Airplanes, to driving concrete mixers and eventually becoming a decorated safety director; John lived a very full life filled with laughter from his famous “Dad Jokes,” wonderful home cooking and hunting trips with his Grandkids. John has also enjoyed competing in Drag Racing events across the country for nearly two decades in his 1971 Dodge Demon. John has collected many race wins and even a season championship over his racing career!

At the time of his passing, John left behind his wife Debbie, his four sons, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and his best four-legged pal, Gus.

John’s celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 8th at 4pm at the Horan & McConaty Arvada location 7577 W. 80th Ave Arvada, CO 80003.
