John Joseph Kelly, III

November 4, 1956 — April 7, 2010

John J. Kelly III (Jack), a resident of Ken Caryl Valley, entered into rest on April 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with scleroderma. Jack was born November 4, 1956. He was predeceased by his father John J Kelly II and is survived by his adoring mother Phyllis. In addition to his mother, he was greatly loved by his wife, Kathie; his daughters, Meghan, Shannon and Devin, all at home; sisters, Patricia Johnson of Harriman, NY and Pamela Day and her husband Wayne of Salisbury Mills, NY; He was greatly loved by his predeceased in-laws: Helen and Ed Walsh, and will be greatly missed by Kathie's siblings: Maureen (Bob) Burns of Germantown, MD, Joan Walsh of Bethesda, MD, Tim Walsh of Woodstock, MD, John Walsh of Littleton, CO, Michael (Tina) Walsh of Richmond VA., and several nieces and nephews. Jack was a 1975 graduate of Westwood High School, Westwood NJ and attended East Carolina University, where he played soccer, before beginning his career with Merrill Lynch. After 25 years, he successfully started his own Transitional Consulting Firm in Littleton, Colorado. Jack was involved for many years as a coach for the Colorado Rush Organization. One of his greatest joys was coaching his three daughters' teams throughout the years. Jack loved hockey, the beach, fly fishing, boating, skiing, running, ANY sport, and traveling . He was part of the four time champion Dawg Nation Men's hockey team. Jack was happiest when he was with family or friends, enjoying the Colorado lifestyle, including his Breckenridge home, or spending the summers on Long Beach Island, NJ. He was also a great fan of the Avalanche hockey team and the Denver Broncos. Jack enjoyed his toys over the years: the horse – Legacy – not really, the dogs Aspen (deceased) and Zoe, his 1964 convertible Mustang, then Trans Am, then 300ZX and the ski boat. He was a loving, caring, generous person. Although he was a man of few words, he had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who know him. Our family would like to thank Dr's. Robert Spencer, Jeff Guilliam , Troy Zabel, Robert Eison and all of the exceptional doctors, nurses and staff of Swedish Medical Center and the Lakewood Crossing Davita Clinic. We also cannot ever express enough thanks for the unbelievable support received from friends and family during his illness, including the Mullen High School and St. Mary's Academy communites and especially the people of Ken Caryl Valley.
