John Michael King, age 74, passed away in Hospice at Mapleton Care Center in Lakewood on January 16, 2024. John graduated from Lincoln High School. After High School John joined the Navy and served six years. John worked as a Drywaller until retiring in 2001. He married Jodie in 1994 and they celebrated 29 years of marriage.
John is survived by his wife Jodie and his mother Helen King; sister Kathleen Gilmore {Dennis) and brother David King (Pam). He is also survived by one daughter Angela Hockett (Jeff) and is a stepfather to James Bush and Becky Jones (Tim). John and Jodie share eight grandchildren and one great grandson. John was preceded in death by his father Reginald King, his daughter Heather and son Troy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John was a friend to everyone. He was always happy, friendly, and personable. John was always eager to help family and friends and had a great sense of humor. John also loved to call and sing Happy Birthday to family and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00PM at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00AM, Horan McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado, followed by Interment with Navy honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver. The reception will follow at Horan McConaty Family Chapel.
