John A. LaRusso

John LaRusso, 71, of Denver passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 23rd with his family by his side. He was born on December 17, 1941, to Sandy and Connie (Sarlo) LaRusso who preceded him in death. John is survived by his loving wife, Lonnie; his children Rich, Matt and David (Izumi); and his siblings Teresa, Fran and Sandra. John was a dedicated Denver Fire Department Repair Technician for 25 years. He joined the Sabers of Denver in 1959 and was a solid member for 54 years. Leading and shaping the Street Rod, Hot Rod culture with his talents and ability to fix, build and engineer anything. He always gave a helping hand to anyone in need at Rod Runs, around town and in everyday life. He was known as the ""Rod Father"" from years past and present. He will be missed but forever live in our hearts and spirit with his quirky jokes, satire and strait forward attitude on life. Always a Man who reached out to help others before himself. He rarely asked for help and his selflessness of giving to others is what made him happy. Visitation will take place on Monday from 4PM-7PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Boulevard, Denver. Funeral Mass is Tuesday at 10:30AM, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 2361 East 78th Avenue. Burial follows at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
