John M. Longway

John M. Longway, 91, recently of San Antonio, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Denver Health Medical Center. Born in Flint, MI he was the son of the late Robert Longway and Irene Sauerman Longway. John served in the United States Navy during WWII and then joined the Navy Reserves for 20 years. He graduated from University of Colorado and University of Michigan Law School and then began his career as an attorney. John was an avid golfer, traveled the world playing golf and even had several holes-in-one. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Osborne Longway; a second wife, Elizabeth Dryer Longway; a daughter, Joan Whitsitt; and a sister, Barbara Longway.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law, Robert T. and Martha Longway; and his granddaughter, Heather Longway.

A celebration of life service for John M. Longway will be conducted at 3 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street, with Rev.Clover Beal officiating.
