John Sherman Mallery, age 78, a resident of Aurora, CO, passed away on 3-21-17 in the Aurora Medical Center. John grew up in Ridgefield Park, NJ and graduated from Ridgefield Park High School. He received a B.S. in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and was a corporate accountant/tax accountant for 32 years, mostly with Anaconda and Atlantic Richfield in New York , NY and Denver, CO. He loved playing bridge, and in 1991 became a Life Master bridge player. He joined Mosaic Masonic Lodge (Ridgefield Park, NJ) in 1960, and was Master in 1968. He was also a member of Naomi Eastern Star Chapter (Ridgefield Park, NJ), Hope Eastern Star Chapter (Bennett, CO), Liberty Amaranth Court (Denver, CO), and Damascus White Shrine (Denver, CO), and held leadership positions in these organizations over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Evelyn Mallery, and his sister Virginia Mallery. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lillian, his daughter Eileen Mallery of West Lafayette IN, son Alan Mallery (Carrie) of Highlands Ranch CO, daughter Nancy Mallery Powell (Brian) of McKinney TX, 2 granddaughters, and 3 grandsons. John was a kind, patient, generous man who loved to tell jokes, watch trains, and locate foreign countries on maps. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
