Jack McMartin passed away on July 21, 2023 at the age of 83. Jack had survived several bouts of cancer in the past 20 years but finally succumbed to his most recent diagnosis.
He was born in Long Beach, California. There he grew to be a happy teenager who loved cars. He worked for the Telephone company until a job opportunity arose in Denver. He moved there in 1969 and met Joan Crawford. They soon fell in love and were married on February 16, 1970. They were blessed with the birth of two beautiful daughters who became the main focus of their lives.
Jack continued his career in sales and ultimately formed his own company selling burglar and fire alarms. His favorite pastime was that of fixing, repairing and building things. He was "Mr. Fixit” , the "Tool Guy” and the neighborhood go-to guy when something was broken. Nothing made him happier than the smell of newly sawn wood. He loved his weekly breakfasts with his buddies Jeff and Brian. He belonged to the St. Thomas More men's group "Men for all Seasons" and enjoyed the fellowship of that group.
Jack is survived by his wife, Joan, His daughter Judy (James) Bennett and their daughter Katherine and his daughter Jennifer (Rich) Mays and their children Luke, Sydney, and Noah, his sister Lorrie (Bob) Kerley and nephew Brett (Rachel) Kerley, and niece Devin (Steephen) Laundrie, sister Peggy’s daughters, Michelle (Tom) Pooler, and Danielle (Brent) Lanksbury.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Jack & Betty McMartin and his sister Peggy (Bob) Avants.
Jack became a devout Catholic on October 16, 2012 and practiced the two great commandments. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, soul and mind and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself for the Love of God.'" Rest in peace Dear Jack.
