John was known for his quiet strength, humor, integrity and generous spirit. Born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, John quit college and joined the Air Force during the Korean War, serving in England and Japan as a draftsman. He graduated from CU Business School in 1959 as a CPA and joined Peat, Marwick & Mitchell CPA firm. Eventually John started his own CPA firm and joined talents with John Rutter as they expanded their firm. Always interested in politics, John was active in the Republican Party. He was campaign manager for US Congressman Don Brotzman and his Colorado Representative for many years. John was also a little league captain and on the trustee board a Porter Hospital, running their annual golf tournament. For fun John enjoyed tennis and golf, achieving a hole-in-one at Pinehurst Country Club. John is survived by his wife of 54 years Beth (Callahan) Nally; their children Liza (Chris) Milam, Scott Nally, Christina (Brent) Zimmerman; four grandchildren; sister Mary Catherine and brothers Joe, Bernie, and Raymond. He was dearly loved and will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014, 11:00 AM, Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 E. Grace Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO 80126.
