John David Ottinger

John David Ottinger, 82, of Parker, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 8th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Anthony "Pete" and Grace Ottinger, John dedicated 30 years to the United States Army and 20 years to the Internal Revenue Service as a criminal investigator. A University of Georgia graduate, he later found joy in volunteering with Meals on Wheels.

John was cherished for his love of trains, devotion to his grandchildren, friendship to many, and legendary sweet tooth. He is survived by his four daughters: Susan Holmes, Pattie King, Amy Boehle, and Beth Graefe, and his sister Sue Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife, Betty.

A memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday, December 28th at 2pm, followed by a reception at Horan McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Denver, CO 80014. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, Dementia Society of America,  or Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Center of Excellence at Aurora.
