John Ralph Palmer

John “Ralph” Palmer was led home by Christ on Monday, January 21, 2019.

Ralph was born on January 19, 1938 in Grover, Colorado, and lived most of his life as a resident of Denver, Colorado. Ralph received both his undergraduate and Master's degrees from University of
Northern Colorado, formerly known as Colorado State College.

Ralph began his career in Cheyenne, Wyoming as both a Basketball Coach and a Physical Education Teacher, with Carey Jr. High. Upon receiving his Master's degree, Ralph moved his family to Denver and began a meaningful career helping kids, as a High School Counselor at Lakewood High School, in Lakewood, Colorado. His passion for the game of Basketball also allowed him the opportunity to spend several years coaching the Girls Basketball Team at Lakewood.

Ralph cherished his memories of growing up in a small town in Northeastern Colorado and held on to the values he developed during his youth, throughout his lifetime. Ralph had a heart for helping people and extended himself generously to those he felt he could help. Ralph met the love of his life, Maggie, in the 8th grade and they built a life and a family together that lasted 57 years.

Ralph was a study, loyal and loving husband and father, who loved a good laugh. He was blessed by and enjoyed many amazing friendships throughout the course of his life, and he was grateful for each one.

Ralph loved God and knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. As he aged, and as he looked back at his life. He was always thankful for God’s provisions and love.

Ralph is survived by his Daughter Kristi Palmer of Englewood, Colorado; Daughter Kari Palmer of Denver, Colorado, Sister in-law Ila Jean Beale of Denver, Colorado; Niece Natalie Esquivel of Denver, Colorado and Great Nephews and Niece, Harper, Lucy and Oliver.

A Funeral Service for Ralph will be held at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO on Monday January 28 at 1:00, A reception will follow the service. Ralph will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 29 at Home of Peace Cemetery, Grover, CO.
