John Edward Putnam

John Edward Putnam, age 71, died in Loveland CO, on November 26, 2017. Born March 20, 1946, in Detroit Michigan, he lived a joyous life in many locations, from Grosse Pointe MI to Washington NJ and Atlanta GA, finally settling in the Denver CO area in 2010. John spent 35 years working in the telecommunications industry for AT&T until retiring in 1999. A proud veteran of the US Navy, John served as a member of the VQ-2 Squadron. His final years were spent traveling with his beloved family, enjoying time with friends, and indulging his love of wine and golfing. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Laura Weaver Putnam, children Jeffrey Putnam of Grosse Pointe Woods MI, Kimberly Lewis (George) of Zionsville IN and Meghan Nickless (Jon) of Denver CO. He loved his six grandchildren George, John, Benjamin, Emma, Henry, and Luke. He is greeted in heaven by his parents Veronica and Lynn, his mother in law Lelah, granddaughter Elizabeth, and brothers James and Michael. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation at Horan and McConaty funeral home, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver CO, Friday, December 1st at 10:00 am. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:30 am. Memorial contributions are welcome at Operation Honor Guard, The American Cancer Society, and The American Heart Association.
