John Rosa Jr., 77, passed away in Denver on Jan. 12, 2022, after a short but fierce battle with COVID. He was born Aug. 1, 1944, to John Sr. and Mildred Rosa in Denver, graduated from Mapleton High School, and followed his parents into the family business, running a greenhouse that grew carnations and other flowers.
Even though they attended different schools, he married his high school sweetheart Marsha Matschke on August 14th, 1965. They settled in unincorporated Adams County, building a home in 1965 that they lived in for the remainder of their lives.
John ran the greenhouse until the mid-1990s and later operated a landscaping yard and a trucking company. He was a great mechanic and enjoyed painting cars and was constantly rebuilding and repairing equipment. He was a tireless worker who was selfless and always willing to help out anyone in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and numerous friends, who he loved to prank and laugh with.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law Mary and father-in-law Jack, and his beloved wife Marsha. He is survived by his children Carin Rosa, Colleen Rosa, John (Julie) Rosa, and Donald Rosa; his grandchildren Brittany (Dusten) Atwood, Robert Vincent, Megan Rosa, and Nicholas Rosa; great-grandchild Giovanni Atwood; siblings Ron (Linda) Rosa and Sharon (Michael-deceased) Spera; sister-in-laws Karel (Tom) Weeks, Barbara (Robert-deceased, Delane Areman) Beilhartz, Linda (Art) Trefry, his brother-in-law Gary (Cindy) Matschke and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family respectfully requests that all service attendees are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a negative rapid COVID test on the day of attendance. Masks are required.
