John Schmitt

September 1, 1933 — June 10, 2022

John E. Schmitt, age 88, of Denver, CO, sadly passed away surrounded by loved ones at the hospital on June 10, 2022, from an unexpected illness. He was predeceased by John and Frances Schmitt (his parents), Betty Schmitt (Wife), John R Schmitt (Son), Adam Schmitt (Brother) and they left behind Mary and Terry Mosely, Lori and Rich Jackson, Susan and John Newton, (daughters and their spouses), Robin Schmitt (daughter-in-law), Vance and Haidee Cave (stepson and wife), Brett Cave (stepson), Rita Schmitt (sister-in-law), Diane Smith (ex-wife) and numerous grandkids and great-grandkids.
John was a proud retired Ironworker. He taught new ironworkers his trade and enjoyed that sharing of knowledge. He also was a retired school bus driver. John was quick with a joke and loved by all his friends and family. He will be missed by all of us.

A funeral service will be held in his honor at 11:30 a.m. on June 29, 2022, at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227. You may leave condolences on the tribute wall on the website: Horancares.com

Services at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80236 will be held at 1:15 p.m. Please be there by 1:00 p.m. in Staging area C.
