John W. Spiegel

John W. Spiegel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away on March 17th, 2025. He was born on July 1st, 1960, to Glenn and Betty Spiegel in Rochester, New York. Grew up in Webster, New York graduating from R.L. Thomas High School in 1979 and moved west to Colorado in 1998. He is survived by his mother Betty Evershed Spiegel, his siblings Deb, Rick and Jim Spiegel, his three adult children Ronnie J. DePoty Jr., Tanya A. Felder and John W. Spiegel II and his six grandchildren Kelly and Riley Felder, Joel, Alexander and Mackenzie DePoty and John Spiegel III. Predeceased by his father Glenn R. Spiegel.

John will be forever known as one of the hardest working individuals, constantly working through illness and injury, not wanting his workload to fall on anyone else’s shoulders. He was fiercely loyal to his family, friends and place of employment. John was kind and giving and if anyone he knew needed help, he’d just as soon give the shirt off his back then have them do without. He was often quiet and reserved, but in a room with those he loved he was the life of the party, filled with jokes and stories. He was a loving and devoted son and brother and an adoring grandfather.

John loved cars and being a mechanic. He enjoyed the quiet and focus of building a model. He loved NASCAR and football. He found peace in a morning at water with a rod and reel in his hands, even if it often meant coming home empty handed. He loved his time on the water boating and water skiing, but above all else, he loved his family. May he rest peacefully.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on March 31st, 2025, from 10-11am at Horan & McConaty (5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, CO 80122). His ashes will later be interred by family at Irondequoit Cemetery (3671 Culver Rd., Irondequoit, NY 14622).
